Why reduct salt?
Sodium reduction in food production isn’t up for debate
It’s a global requirement and a market demand.
But doing so without compromising flavor or production efficiency?

That’s the real challenge
It is the estimated number of deaths associated each year worldwide with excessive sodium intake
It is the global average of sodium intake, equivalent to approximately 10.78 grams of salt
It is the maximum sodium limit that the WHO recommends not to exceed
Where does sodium come from in our diet?
Around 70% of excessive sodium intake comes from processed foods, where salt serves both to enhance flavor and preserve the product.
from fruits and vegetables
from processed foods
from home cooking seasonings

Behind Reduct Salt
Reduct Salt is a brand of MVG, a company with over 40 years of experience in the production and distribution of salts on an international scale. Its story began in 1980, when the Dapporto family founded ISAD Sali in Faenza, specializing in salts for food use and other sectors.
From ISAD to MVG: a journey of strategic growth
In 1992, MVG was established as a comprehensive operator serving the food, animal feed, agricultural, industrial, and water treatment markets, with a strong presence across Europe. Up to 2021, MVG handled up to 250,000 tons of salt annually, solidifying its position as a key industry player.
Innovative approaches toward a sustainable future
In 2021, MVG leveraged decades of expertise in salt chemistry and production to create Reduct Salt, a technologically advanced food-grade salt blend. To focus on high-value products, MVG divested its salt industrial refining division while maintaining full control over all stages of Reduct Salt’s production and distribution — with a dedicated commitment to quality, people’s wellbeing, and environmental and social sustainability.
